Scadden has been actively involved in EMS for 15 years, beginning her career as a volunteer EMT-A in rural Iowa. She is a NREMT-P, currently working for the Iowa Department of Public Health/Bureau of EMS as the Rural AED Grant Program Coordinator, Clive Fire/EMS as a Staff Paramedic and Sac County Ambulance Service in Northwest Iowa as well as the ALS provider for her rural volunteer squad in Schaller, IA. She is a member of the Federal IA-1 DMAT team and the Region B Iowa State DMAT Team. Julie is an active advocate for EMS serving on numerous Advisory boards and committees in Iowa, including the Board of Directors for the Iowa EMS Association and is the BLS representative on the Iowa Scope of Practice Committee. Julie maintains her Iowa EMS Instructor endorsement, serving as adjunct EMS faculty for several area Community Colleges teaching all levels of EMS as well as a PHTLS Instructor, ACLS Instructor, AMLS Instructor, BLS Instructor, TBI Instructor & PEPP Coordinator certifications and serves as AHA BLS Regional Faculty on the Central and Western Iowa Task Forces
